The Samsung Galaxy S10 is a fitting 10th anniversary phone for Samsung and its storied S series. It delivers on change with a novel-looking Infinity-O screen so large it displaces the front camera, and a triple-lens rear camera that takes ultra-wide photos. Its in-screen fingerprint sensor tech should serve you well, while its Wireless PowerShare could serve your friends well. That’s a lot of change – just know that it comes at a high price and the Samsung Galaxy S10e and Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus flank it from both sides of the coin as better options.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 is engineered and designed to be a conversation-changer, a phone that’s intended to turn everyone’s yearly question of “Do I really need to upgrade?” into a more exclamatory “I really need to upgrade!”
The Samsung Galaxy S10 does make this case, according to the four months we’ve spent testing Samsung’s new flagship phone for 2019 – with some clear caveats.
It’s the 6.1-inch Infinity Display that really sets this phone apart. The handset introduces a nearly-edge-to-edge look that stretches top to bottom, with pixels spilling over the curved edges at the sides – there’s no room for big bezels on Samsung’s new smartphone. For the most part, bezels don’t exist here.
It’s one refinement of many that keep the Samsung Galaxy S10 in demand, and deals events like Amazon Prime Day deliver discounts like those below:

Samsung Galaxy S10 Review: The best Galaxy to buy right now?
While the Samsung Galaxy S10 doesn’t excel in any one specific area, the collective package makes for an incredibly capable offering – which I’m sure was Samsung’s aim in the first place. It sports a stunning OLED screen, versatile camera and a number of enticing new features.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 might not have the groundbreaking camera of the Huawei P30 Pro or the astounding battery life of the Moto G7 Power but the total package it brings to the table makes it a serious contender for best Android phone of 2019.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 was is one of the first true flagships to hit the market in 2019. Not long after, stiff competition arrived in the form of the aforementioned P30 Pro and the potent OnePlus 7 Pro. There’s no denying that it’s a tough time to be a flagship phone, based on the sheer amount of competition out there, however, it also means buyers have a wealth of worthwhile choices to consider.
Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (128GB) 60GB a month for £43 a month (no upfront cost)
This impressive Metrofone deal grants you a 128GB Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus and 60GB of EE data a month, on a two-year plan, with no upfront cost and a total amount that’s still less than a 30GB plan direct from EE.

You know the drill by now: the arrival of a new Samsung Galaxy smartphone is as big as it gets in the Android world. Think Chrismukkah, 4th of July and pancake day all at once. Big.
That’s a lot to pressure to deliver the goods, and with rivals rapidly gaining ground, Samsung has never had a tougher job of staying the de facto choice for anyone not interested in an iPhone.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 is just one part of a three-prong plan of attack, from mainstream to full-on flagship, and might just be the best of the bunch.
Does the handset in front of you look familiar? It should: Samsung hasn’t really messed with its Galaxy phone formula for four years now, improving and iterating but keeping the same basic design intact. And why wouldn’t you – the Galaxy S10 is gorgeous.
The polished metal frame sandwiched between two pieces of glass is undeniably classy. It’s a little bit taller, a little bit wider than the outgoing S9 – but not so much you’ll notice.
A 6.1in screen sounds big, but with a narrow aspect ratio, it’s skinny enough to sit comfortably in one hand. The screen still subtly curves around the sides, and the bezels are even skinnier than last year’s already impressive S9.
Samsung has achieved that with some camera cleverness, bypassing notches and just cutting a hole right through the display to make room for the single selfie cam. It sits in the top right corner, and is sure to be just as divisive as a notch would be, but spend a bit of time with the S10 and you quickly forget it’s there.
Around back, a triple-lens camera array takes pride of place – but more on that below. What you won’t find is a fingerprint sensor, because Samsung has buried it underneath the screen. It uses ultrasonic tech, rather than optical, which makes it a little more accurate but no faster.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 and Samsung Galaxy S10+ are packing Samsung’s new One UI. It’s a departure from the TouchWiz past, and that’s a good thing. Does One UI make the Galaxy S10 and S10+ price tag easier to accept? Is the Samsung Galaxy S10 the best smartphone of 2019 or would you rather get something else?
