Is OnePlus 7 Pro The Best Smartphone Overall? Right now it has the best smartphone camera. Oneplus 7 Pro review.

The OnePlus 7 Pro has grown on me. It’s one of the fastest (if not fastest) devices I’ve ever used. The combination of top end hardware and OnePlus software optimization creates an almost instant smartphone experience. OnePlus has gone upmarket with their pricing strategy but in the case of the OnePlus 7 Pro it’s probably justified. It’s unfortunate OnePlus didn’t keep a more value oriented product for the North American market.

How OnePlus’ next camera phone is taking the fight to Google …

Despite great strides in improving the abilities of its cameras, OnePlus’ phones continue to walk in the shadow of their most photographically-capable competitors.

Chinese phone maker OnePlus has built its reputation on striking one of the best balances of price and performance on the market, keeping pace or surpassing far more expensive rival flagships. However, one aspect of their phones that’s always lagged behind such rivals has been camera quality.

The cameras on OnePlus phones may have been serviceable, but they never really posed a threat to competitors from the likes of Apple, Google, Huawei or Samsung. With this latest generation, in the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro, though, things are starting to change.

Trusted Reviews visited the company’s imaging research and development centre in Taiwan to discover what’s being done to even the playing field and what might lay in store for the cameras of future OnePlus devices.

OnePlus 7 Pro review: Bigger and brighter, but is it better?

Great display Smooth 90Hz refresh rate Top-notch UI Fantastic build quality Solid triple cameras Great performance and storage speed

Average battery life Too big to use comfortably with one hand No IP rating No wireless charging No headphone jack Bad camera performance in low-light

The OnePlus 7 Pro offers quite a bit of value for what the company is asking, but it’s missing a few key features for which consumers might be willing to cough up the extra dough. While the display and camera versatility are much better than they were on the OnePlus 6T, the downgraded battery life, lack of wireless charging, and lack of water resistance make this an option, rather than a no-brainer.
